We also have a sauna tent up at Highfield in Catton, which is available to rent per person for an hour session. If you would like to do this then please call us 07723 081406 or email: hello@contentedsoul.co.uk to book. The price is £12 per person, per hour.

What is provided?

Each booking includes:

A 2-5 person sauna tent, chimney water boiler, water bucket, ladle, gloves for the fire, essential oils, tea lights for the night sessions, an inflatable plunge pool with a large ice block and hardwood logs. We have a fully covered internal floor and warm mats to keep your feet warm and dry.

We set it up and get the fire going for you and then leave you to sauna in peace

What do you need?

Please wear your swimming trunks and costume and sit on your towel. Flip flops are useful to wear between the tent and the plunge pool.

We recommend you take off all your jewellery and make up before you sauna.

If the tent is up in your garden, then it's all very handy to have everything you need on site!

How much outdoor space do you need?

To rent a wood-fired sauna tent, you will need at least 3m x 3m amount of space in your garden, clear from overhead obstructions.

We have a sauna tent at Highfield in Catton if your garden isn't suitable, or if you would simply like a different view.

If you are unsure about using a wood-fired sauna we can show you how to do it here - and it's also a bit cheaper.

What surface can the tent go on?

The sauna can be erected on grass or a hard surface that does not burn or
melt.

The tent has an internal floor covering so for winter time especially, you're feet won't be muddy or cold.

How long does it take to get hot?

The wood-fired sauna takes up to 20-30 minutes to heat up depending on the outside temperature. Hardwood is used to generate the best heat.

When we set up the tent, we will light the fire and get it going well for you, so you just need to be ready to jump in. If you are doing a longer booking to have another sauna the following day - you will need to light the fire yourselves. Full instructions on how to use the wood burner will be included.

It takes 2 hours for the stove to fully cool down. Once it is cool, we will come and take it all down.

What weather conditions are suitable?

The sauna tent is extremely robust and has been tested in the Scandinavian wilderness. It will be fine in most weather conditions, however if it is too extreme we will need to reschedule your booking or offer a full refund.

We will cancel a booking if wind is more than 38mph.
